Hospitality
It is in God that we come to be able tolove and be loved- to know and to be known by God.
At Trinity Cathedral, we believe that this sense of love that God has placed within us is also a call to action - to reach out to those who are strangers in our midst and to welcome them as we would welcome Jesus Christ himself.
This is a high bar to jump over, a difficult standard to achieve, but it is a path we believe we are led to follow.
This is the heart of theGospel, the living word of God - We long to be known and we seek to know the other. This kind of knowing comes out of our capacity to see the soul of another - to see into the heart and discover theImagio Dei- the very image of God in the face of our humanity.
What does it mean to gather here Sunday after Sunday to proclaim God's love to the world? The secret is imbedded in the well-known Beatitudes - the blessed be's. This is what we can do. This is what we are called to do. We gather here to practice living - sometimes it is calledthe way, sometimesthe reign of God, sometimes we speak ofliving in the abundant kingdombut all of it can be said in one short sentence:I am called to see the light of God in you and you are called to see the light of God in me.
We invite you to join us at the table - and on the journey - to see the light of God in one another.
